Documents you’ll need
Send a clear phone photo of each. Anything marked (if it applies) is only needed when it is true of you.

- Emirates ID of the testator — Both sides
- Passport copy of the second testator (if it applies) — Only for a couple, for the matching will
- Title deed for each UAE property (if it applies) — Only if you own UAE property. One per property
- Trade licence and share certificate (if it applies) — Only if you hold shares in a UAE company
- Beneficiary names, dates of birth and passport copies — Everyone who should inherit
- Guardian details for the children (if it applies) — Only if you have children under 18. Include an interim guardian who can step in immediately

Common questions
Who can register a DIFC will?
The DIFC Wills Service is open to non-Muslims who have never been Muslim. You do not have to live in Dubai to use it, but the will covers UAE assets in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.
Does it cover property in Abu Dhabi?
No. The DIFC register covers Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah. For Abu Dhabi assets the Abu Dhabi (ADJD) route is the one that applies, and plenty of people register both. We will tell you which you need.
Do I need an Arabic translation?
Not for this route. A DIFC will is drafted and registered in English, which is the main practical difference between it and the Dubai Courts and Abu Dhabi registers.
Can I change it later?
Yes. A will can be replaced or amended; the register has its own process and fee for that. Tell us what has changed and we will set out the options before you commit to anything.
